Our Mission

At Palliative Care in Critical Care, our mission is to provide compassionate and comprehensive support for patients with chronic illness and those facing the end of their life. As we prepare for the upcoming PCiCC Conference, we continue to focus on improving care for long-term patients and those receiving care while dying in the ICU. Our approach tailors to the physical, emotional, and spiritual demands of our patients, ensuring they receive the support they need during critical times.

Topics

Submit your work and present your research, audit, and innovations at the PCiCC Conference, specifically focused on Palliative Care in Critical Care. This is an opportunity to stimulate debate, share knowledge nationally, and enhance your own portfolio and presentation skills. Successful submissions will be showcased with a poster and the chance to present their work on the day of the Critical Care Conference. Please ensure that one of the authors is available to attend the conference.

Eligibility?

All members of the multi-professional team, including all professions, all grades, and all students, are invited to participate in the Critical Care Conference, which will address important topics such as Palliative Care in Critical Care during the upcoming PCiCC Conference.

Details

Please submit a 250-word abstract (not including the title) using the form below. We invite abstract submissions that delve into the breadth and complexity of palliative care in critical care settings for the upcoming Critical Care Conference. Topics may include, but are not limited to, the early integration of palliative care in the ICU, decision-making regarding ceilings of treatment, ethics and moral frameworks, communication with patients and families, end-of-life care, withdrawal of life-sustaining therapies, symptom control, and bereavement support. We welcome clinical audits, quality improvement projects, service development, education initiatives, and original research related to Palliative Care in Critical Care. Submissions that highlight multidisciplinary perspectives, patient and family experiences, equity of access, and innovative models of care at the intersection of critical and palliative care are particularly encouraged for the PCiCC Conference.

Timeline

Submission deadline for the Critical Care Conference is 8th May 2026. Authors will be notified of the outcome regarding their submissions for the Palliative Care in Critical Care on 20th May. The PCiCC Conference will take place on 3rd June 2026.
